Lesley-Ann Jones studied Modern Languages in London and Paris before moving to New York to become a freelance journalist. She joined Chrysalis Records in London in the mid-1980s, working alongside Blondie, Spandau Ballet, Ultravox, Jethro Tull, Pat Benatar, Go West and The Special AKA.
She co-presented prime-time Saturday night magazine show 'Ear-Say' at the inception of Channel 4, joined pop guru Phil Swern on Capital Radio's You Ain't Heard Nothing Yet, and appeared on Radio Clyde's Bill Padley Show with singer-songwriter Jim Diamond.
On the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and YOU magazine she worked as a feature writer, touring with Paul McCartney, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Queen. Relocating to Los Angeles, her contributions to titles in the UK and Europe, USA and Canada, New Zealand and Australia included interviews with Frank Sinatra, Raquel Welch and Brigitte Bardot. On BFBS Forces Radio she gossiped weekly with the late Tommy Vance. She also wrote and co-produced documentaries on Stevie Nicks, Ken Russell, Jermaine Jackson, Naomi Campbell, and with her father, award-winning sports writer Ken Jones - on 'Players, Fighters & Writers'. Other TV work included Fax!, Music Box and Livewire in the UK, and E! Entertainment and Hard Copy in the US. At Vintage TV in the UK she acted as Showbusiness Editor, and wrote and presented the rock interview series 'Me & Mrs Jones', produced by Richard Hughes for Transparent Television.
She has worked as a columnist on The Sun, The Daily Mail, The News Of The World and The Sunday Express; she contributes features to the Mail on Sunday, and is the author of eight published books. Freddie Mercury: The Definitive Biography (Hodder & Stoughton, London) will be published across five continents during 2011-2012.
Lesley-Ann has three children. Her eldest, Mia, features regularly in her blog, Mamma & Mia! She lives with her son and youngest daughter in London.
